Dual-purpose ability of barley and wheat at drought and heat stress conditions

Dual-purpose barley and wheat production is a valuable resource to fill feed gaps grain production, but availability at drought heat stress conditions still not clearly studied. Two experiments were conducted semi-controlled green house determine biomass vegetative stages, chlorophyll content yield. Experiment 1 consists of four clipping treatments on wheat, i.e. one, two, three times un-clipping control. 2 combined two (one un-clipping) levels water (low: 40 % field capacity; normal: 85 capacity) barley. Wheat yield was severely affected by increasing number under stress. Total one the same level as control treatment. Although physiological maturity delayed 8 days from 3 application, remained below application due shrinkage in plant height other organs size. Clipping significantly impacted height, all traits related interactions x level. The reduced total 21.3 30.4 well-watered dry conditions, respectively. Contrary what expected, it seems clear obtain satisfactory forage optimizing management technique, growing dual-purpose warm environments.
